3 Easy And Cute Everyday Hairstyles

Hey Everyone!!

Today I'm gonna show you 3 easy hairstyles that I do most of the time. They are so simple and cute! I don't know if this will work very well, in blog form at all but if it does let me know and I'll do more things like this! Also, I have insanely long hair so I don't know how well they will work for short hair, but give 'em a try anyways and we might be surprised!

The first hairstyle I'm going to show you is a halo/crown braid, whatever you want to call it. I love this because it's so quick and easy but gets tons of complements!

  1. Brush your hair out to make sure you don't have knots because it can make this hairstyle difficult if you do.
  2. Next, take a small section from behind one of yours ears, divide that into 3 sections and start braiding it. Then secure it with an elastic.
  3. Then do the same thing on the other side.
  4. Next, take one of the braids and cross it over your head like a headband look, and secure that with a bobby pin or 2 behind your other ear.
  5. Now, same thing with the other side except put it either in front or behind the first braid and secure that.
  6. Finally fix your hair haw you want it and your good to go!

The second hairstyle is the Katniss braid. I love this because it's so cute and it's Hunger Games so you can't go wrong! Everyone will love it!

  1. The best way to do this is with a side part, if you don't already have one. So make a side part if you need to. And again, make sure that your hair doesn't have any knots.
  2. From the larger part, take from your part to about eye level and 2 inches back and separate it into 3 parts and French braid that from there across the bottom of your head, over to the other side. To do the braid across your head, keep it low and bottom and then top(or top then bottom) just like you would French braid you hair, but sideways, if that makes since. And if you don't know how to French braid you can find a tutorial on YouTube I'm sure.
  3. Then, when you are at the other side of your head, braid that just like a regular side braid. Secure it with an elastic and you can loosen it and pull parts of your hair out to give it a messier look.
This one may take a little while to get but once you get it, it takes minutes!

The third hairstyle is braid half-up-half-down. This is simple, easy and it's a go to look.

  1. First, make sure you have no knots.
  2. Then, take a small section just above your ear, and braid that. Also, when you braid it, braid back so it doesn't make a bump on the side of your head when you bring it back. Then secure it with an elastic.
  3. Do the same thing with the other side.
  4. Next, take the first braid to the middle of the back of your head and secure that with 1 or 2 bobby pins. And do it with the other side, secure that one, and take out the elastics.
  5. Arrange your hair by pulling out a few pieces or whatever you want and you ready!
This is so easy it's ridiculous, but looks amazing!

So these are a few of my everyday hairstyles. If you have questions or tried any these hairstyles let me know in the comments or tweet me @pinkfloral811.

How I Prepare For Feises

Hey Everyone!!

This is a post about how I prep for feises...from about the week before.

For those for you who don't know what a feis is and are very confused, a feis is a irish dancing competition. If you aren't associated with irish dance in every way just wait like a day and I will have something else up, but I really want to do some irish dance posts because irish dance is my life...I'm not exaggerating.
Anyways this will be a list of things I do throughout the week to prepare for a day of feising.

I live very far away from feises. The average distance to a feis is about 3 1/2 hours from my house. And just to give you guys some general information about my dance status is I'm in U15 Prelim, in the New England region, and yeah.

Monday: I have class for 2 hours. I will check that I have every thing essential I need(as well as all the random crap I bring with me that I never use) just to make sure my dress isn't ripped, I have electrical tape, etc.

Tuesday: I again have class but only for an hour to an hour and a half. I pick up or repair anything I need to do.

Wednesday: I have class again. On Wednesday, I put my bag together. I have a traveling bag on wheels. I don't know what to call it. It's what people bring when they travel. You get the idea I think...Anyways...I don't have a Zuca bag because those are expensive and will probably break it in one feis, but  really like them they are so pretty and look really handy. Mine I have had for a year or so, I got it at Goodwill because I didn't want to spend a ton of money on a bag for feising. But it was like brand new and I got it for like $7.99 and it was the perfect size, not too big and not too small. So I will organize that with little pouches to keep everything in it's place and not everywhere when I get to the feis.

Thursday: I don't have dance, so I will practice as usual for an hour or so and fix anything from dance that my teacher told me to work on. Then I will print off the schedule, and number if they let you. Also, I will go to the grocery store with my mom and will get snacks for the ride.

Friday: I don't have dance again...:( But I won't practice because then I don't have to worry about pulling a muscle the night before a feis, which I have learned from experience, sucks horribly. I have pulled my hamstrings SO MANY TIMES right before a feis, it is actually ridiculous!!! The moral of the story is DON'T BE STUPID LIKE ME!!! Next, I will pack the car with my dress and bag and anything else I need. Then I will pack our snack bag with pretzel chips, gold fish, granola bars, bottles of water, etc.

Saturday: Let's just say the feis is on a Saturday today, I know that's sometimes they are on Sundays, but today they are on a Saturday. So It's feis morning!!*Me being sarcastic* Yay! I get to wake up at 5am! So exciting!! I wake up get dress in ya know, feis stuff, and go downstairs and make my smoothie I make every morning. I can do a recipe on how I make my smoothies if you guys want. Then I make a breakfast with a lot of protein and carbs, especially since sometimes I end up not eating that much before a feis, at least I'm not running my body on a apple and a smoothie...been there...done that...not a good idea. Then after being in the car for a century or so, I do my thang! I can do a more in depth feis day if you guys want, just let me know.

That is basically the week before my feis. I hope you enjoyed and let me know in the comments what you do before a feis and if you want me to do more dance things. And if you don't do irish dance, I will have a different post up soon!

My Fave Drugstore Makeup

Hey Everyone!!

Today I wanted to do a post of some of my favorite drugstore makeup products, I'll try to put the link to each item next to them.

1. Moisturizer

My favorite drugstore moisturizer is Burt's And Bees Natural Acne Solutions Daily Moisturizing Lotion. It's $18 and I really like that fact that it's natural and controls acne. I've never had horrible acne *knocks on wood* but I think that's because ever since I was 12 and had my first few breakouts I asked my mom for some sort of acne wash. A smart child am I! Haha! Anyways, I really recommend this product, it's worked for me for years and I have had a lot of luck with it!

2. Foundation

My favorite drugstore foundation is Covergirl Clean Whipped Crème in 305. This foundation feels so good! It's feels like I have nothing on my face! And when I take it off my face feels insanely smooth! I just love it! It's $7.89. On the website, they have the foundation but in the link it's in the shade tawny but I'm not in that shade, I'm in the shade light, just if you are confused why there is only one shade on there, there is more shades, but I don't know why it only shows that one.(Sorry for that run-on sentence)

3. Bronzer

My favorite bronzer is Wet N' Wild Mega Glo Illuminating Powder in 348 Starlight Bronze. It's not the best bronzer in the world, but if you are only looking for a touch on your cheeks, temples, and neck, then it's fine. I really need to try some better ones but this one works for now. It's $3.99 at Rite Aid, for some reason they don't have the prices on their website, but basically speaking this bronzer is in no way expensive! Which is great! BTW I have the WORST time finding bronzers that don't make me look orange because I'm soooooo pale! I'm very Irish haha!

4. Blush/Highlighter

My favorite blush is Almay Wake Up Blush & Highlighter...It has been discontinued sadly but I just found this website of discontinued makeup products and they have it so at least you can see what it looks like. It was $10.30, but on the website it's $5.99. But I LOVE this blush and highlighter! It's my life! I HIGHLY recommend this product!

5. Powder

My favorite powder is Covergirl & Olay Pressed Powder in 330 Light. I love this powder so much!! It goes on great and I don't have one complaint about it, it's just so great! I can't even! I have the old one, not the one in the silver(and beautiful) new packaging! But I think they are the same thing just in different packaging. So it's $8.99. I highly recommend this product ALOT!

6. Liquid Eyeliner

My favorite liquid eyeliner is Wet N' Wild Mega Liner Liquid Liner in 861 Black. It's $2.99 at Rite Aid. I am pretty lucky that I have the natural talent of getting a really good wing, but if you have trouble with doing wings I would recommend a different eyeliner. The only other problem I have with it is I will go through a bottle really quick because it dries up somewhat fast and there isn't much in there. But other than that it's a pretty good eyeliner.

7. Concealer

My favorite concealer is Revlon Age Defying Concealer but I couldn't find the shade on the packaging, but basically I'm really pale, and it's the lightest one. It's $10.99 at Rite Aid. They have the concealer on Revlon.com, but it's a new version.(in, again, beautifuler packaging) I really like this mascara, it's been doing its job...So good job Revlon!

8. Mascara

My favorite mascara is Maybelline Great Lash. My favorite mascara EVER! I've been using it for over 4 years and tried a ton of mascaras but always goes back t this one...Because it's MAGICAL!!! I can't tell you enough great things about this mascara so I'm just gonna move on...It's $6.40 in Blackest Black. Just get this mascara if you don't already have it!

9. Eye Shadow

My favorite eye shadow Maybelline the Nudes Palette. I love it! It's a great alternative to the very expensive Urban Decay Naked Palettes or the Bobbi Brown Nude on Nude Palette or any of those expensive eye shadows. Obviously it's not as amazing as those palettes, but especially for the price it's wonderful! It's $11.99! Which is an amazing price for it, I think!

10. Lipstick

My favorite lipsticks are all the Wet 'N Wild lipsticks! You are probably like "But they are cheap!" Yes, they are cheap in price, but defiantly not in quality! The colors are amazingly pigmented, last all day, you can drink and eat and they don't come off. I would pick one of these over a MAC lipstick everyday! And they are only like $1.99 or something crazy like that! My favorites are the Mega Last Lip Colors, but they are all so wonderful, I can't explain!

11. Lip Balm

Sometimes I don't want to wear a lipstick so I just wear some lip balm, my favorite is Eos, I love all the flavors, the are the balm.com. (No pun intended) I have a lip balm obsession, you guys don't even understand, I can't even leave my home without lip balm or a freak out. It's weird...I need to break the habit but I can't! They are $3.29, and they are my life. I love every last flavor I could never choose my favorite.

So I hope you enjoyed this post, and let me know if you tried any of these products and what you think or you have any for me to try. Just leave them in the comments below!

Back-To-School Series #3-School Supplies

Hey Everyone!

So today I wanted to kinda do like a school supplies haul, at least what I've gotten so far. I'm gonna do a picture, where I got it, and what I'm using it for. I've never done a haul, so we will see how this goes!

  • My Planner(a.k.a. My Life Organizer)

I got it from Big Lots for like $4 or something like that! But it's so pretty! And it's not too big which is important to me. I'm actually using it right now! Haha! I use it to put in my dance competitions and classes. I also like to put in birthdays and when I want to write a post or have an idea. I just like to plan a lot. It's made by PlanAhead.

  • My Little Notebooks

I also got these from Big Lots. The Composition Book for $1.10 and the pink and green one for $3.(I still have the tag on whoops.) They are little notebooks, but not too small. I really like using Composition Books for doing math work in. I like The little pink one for carrying it with me so I always have a notebook with me in case I need it. They are both made my Big Lots Distributer.

  • My Pencils

I got the middle ones from Big Lots and the other 2 from Walmart, I think but I'm not 100% sure on that. I personally prefer mechanical pencils, as long as they aren't cheap and you press the button and the whole thing falls apart. I've gotten some of those! Haha! Although I always like to get a package of regular pencils from Ticonderoga, which is where they are from, But the mechanical ones are from PaperMate. I like the black wood pencils because I feel cooler. I got the mechanical pencils in red, green, black, and blue. I don't remember the price but I'm sure it was cheap.

  • Pens

I think I got these from  Walmart as well but I don't remember. Sorry I bought these things a while ago and forgot the information. With that being said, I don't remember the price either...haha! I love BIC and I think these are so adorable! Especially the BIC For Her ones! So adorable!!

  • Pencil Sharpener

I got my pencil sharpener from Big Lots for $.80. I'll probably get another one because this is really cheap but I don't care because I am the master of breaking pencil sharpeners.(Part of the reason I like mechanical pencils.) But yeah It's pink and stuff...Moving on this is boring...

  • My Portfolios(a.k.a. Life Holders)

I got these from Big Lots as well. They were $4. They came in a ton of other cute colors, but these were the 2 I chose. They are from Bridgeport. They are basically a 7 pocket expanding file. I use these so much to stay organized. The are my LIFE HOLDERS! I put writing assignments, homeworks tests, notes, just anything I need! They are amazing! They are life!

  • Notebooks

I got these from Walmart for $3.87. The other one I Just had. I know it's the brand Notebound and it's got a bunch of cool folders and pockets in it! I love it! I love the other ones too because they are the Mead brand and Mead is boss. I love the colors as well. I only use College ruled notebooks because you can't fit anything on the stupid wide ruled notebooks. Its just no.

  • My Backpack

I know its somewhat of a crappy picture but whatever. It's a North Face backpack in the Jester style. My mom got it from Goodwill for $9.99. It is literally like brand new! I love love love the colors! Purple and teal are my favorite colors so it's perfect! It looks like it has never even been used! Just perfection! I looked online and t was around $60 I'd say is the amount I saw throughout my research.

So that's my school supplies at least for now. I have to get more things. Like binders and more pencils, just a few more odds and ends. I got some school clothes so I'm hoping to do a Back-To-School Outfit soon, but I haven't finished yet. I'm waiting to decide whether to do it now or when I'm done. I'll let you guys know when I decide. I have a lot more Back-To-School Series posts planned so keep checking back and you have any suggestions for posts or school supplies for me to try, comment or tweet me @pinkfloral811 I'd love to hear!!!

Thanks for reading!

Back-To-School Series #2-Study Tips

Hello Everyone!
Today I wanted to tell you guys some study tips to help you have a super successful school year!
  1. My NUMBER ONE TIP!!! Review Monday through Friday! This might sound like a lot but it's not really studying, even though it is. This way you don't have to cram once you find out there's a test or quiz. You just study a little harder before. Also if there is a pop quiz you will be super prepared. I reviewed everyday and barely ever had to study hard and it was so much less stressful!
  2. Use your time wisely!! It is not the amount of time you spend studying that matters. It's what you can accomplish during that time. If you spend an hour studying but are checking your phone every 3 minutes, you are really not studying for that long. It's one thing to take a break but another to avoid your work. Plan and write a study plan into your planner so that you can set an hour or 2 away to just study and put the phone away except for a 5 minute break every half hour to check twitter and get a snack
  3. Stay motivated!! If you are not motivated and have a poor attitude, your study session will not be very productive. You have just one chance to pass an exam or get an A on your paper. Pick a time of day where you can get motivated to prepare for tests, write essays, and solve problems.
  4. Concentrate!! Concentration is one of the more important study skills you need to have. You won't always be able to study when its quiet or be able to spend as much time as you would like on a particular thing. Learn how to deal with distractions so you can focus all your attention to studying.
  5. Ask for help!! If you don't understand something, ASK FOR HELP. Ask your teacher, family, or friends for help. It is important to figure out the problem as soon as you don't understand so you can fix it. Or, you will end up having to spend more time studying that one thing trying to understand it last minute. Also, if you can't reach a teacher, or a family member or friend to help, you can always go online and there are tons of homework help sites! But DO NOT CHEAT! Cheating will just hurt you in the long run because you didn't actually do learn it if you didn't study it, so what's the point of that.
  6. Create a clean, calm area where you are comfortable to study. Whether it's your bed, your desk, the kitchen table, or even your backyard! Just find a place you are happy and comfortable.
  7. Make a study group with your friends! It makes studying so much more enjoyable! then when your done you can all go get froyo together or go shopping!
  8. Take careful notes, keep organized, and keep track of them! There is no point in taking good notes if you can't find them or spend half your study time trying to get them all in the right spot. Or even if you take not so good notes, if you keep them organized and safe, you can still get a good amount out of them. Get a good system to get all your school supplies and notes in order.
  9. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!! There is a damn good reason teachers give you homework!!! Its basically review!! So them you don't have to review yourself, the teachers basically are giving you a study guide! And keep your homework because it's most likely the some of the main points of the lesson, so its basically a whole other set of notes!! So if you are a bad note taker, you have that set of notes right there! So you have no excuse! Haha! Even if you are good at note taking it's always nice to have that extra help to get a better grade!

Well I hope I helped you for the next school year with studying! If any of these things helped you or have any other study tips, tweet me @pinkfloral811 or comment!! Watch for more posts from my Back-To-School Series!

Thanks for reading!
